MESSAGES
The Truth Will Set You Free (John 8:31-32)
I believe that one of the most important foundations for the Christian life is our perseverance in the Word of the Lord.
John 8:
31 — So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
» The Challenge of Remaining in the Word
Jesus shows us clearly that those who hear His message must persevere in it. Many times, we meet people who had a strong initial impact at their conversion, understanding that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world to set us free and give us abundant life.
However, after that initial impact, many end up forgetting that following God’s teachings is a continuous foundation in the Christian life. It is this abiding in the Word of Jesus that leads us to true salvation.
» The Strategy of Deception and False Freedom
A great mistake among Christians — which is actually a satanic strategy — is allowing themselves to drift away from the Scriptures.
When people do not know the truth, they cannot be freed from the lies and deceptions that the world imposes.
The Word of God gives us clear direction; if people do not know it, they lose the strength and wisdom to fight against the influences of what the world dictates.
» Living the Word Requires Knowing the Word
For you to live the Word of God, it is absolutely necessary that you first know it.
You must seek this wonderful knowledge to see the truth, understand it, and follow it, thus avoiding being deceived by the enemy, who only seeks to steal, kill, and destroy.
John 10:10 — The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
» A Call to Faithfulness and Freedom
Pay attention to the words of Jesus and remain in what you have heard. Read the Gospels, know the Lord’s will for your life, and stand firm.
Your blessing, your salvation, and the continuous presence of God caring for you and helping you overcome the adversities of this world depend on this.
Therefore, be set free by seeking the knowledge of God, for it is the Word of the Lord that brings true freedom into our lives!
