Jesus Must Increase and You Decrease! (John 3:30)

I believe that one of the greatest examples of humility and submission to God in the entire Bible is found in John the Baptist's statement in the Gospel of John.

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

» The Example of John the Baptist

Here we see John the Baptist confirming that he was not the Messiah, but the one who came to prepare the way and announce the Savior.

When questioned by his followers, he recognized his position and declared that from that moment on, Jesus should increase and he should decrease.

We should look at these beautiful words and apply them to our lives: we need to see ourselves as infinitely smaller than Jesus, recognizing our complete inability to live and make decisions in this world without the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

» The True Lordship of Christ

When people accept Christ, they declare that He is their Lord and Savior.

If Jesus is your Lord, then He is the owner of your life, and every owner has full authority over what belongs to them.

It is essential that you understand the depth of this truth and truly submit yourself to God.

Humble yourself in His presence, allowing Him to direct your steps and take care of your path, so that everything happens according to the heart of the One who has complete authority over you.

» Complete Dependence and a Father's Care

Never forget that we submit ourselves to God simply because we depend on Him.

Jesus Himself said, "Apart from me you can do nothing."

We need to bow before the Lord and present our causes, doubts, and struggles, trusting that He will always guide us.

After all, what owner does not take good care of what belongs to them?

Our God will never abandon us; He will care for us just like a loving father who teaches, leads, protects, and watches over his child.

» The Danger of Walking Away

Therefore, do not run from God's presence as the prodigal son did, choosing to live far from home and later deeply regretting it because of the suffering he experienced.

Those who leave God's presence suffer greatly, because apart from Him we are completely helpless.

Remain steadfast in the Lord's presence, humble yourself, and let Jesus grow and reign sovereignly over your story!
