The Curtain of the Temple (Mark 15:37-38)

The wonderful work of Jesus on the cross goes far beyond what many people understand or have ever perceived:

Mark 15:
37 And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last.
38 And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.

» The Torn Veil and the Open Way

Here we see Mark describing the exact moment of Christ’s death on the cross.

Right after Jesus cried out loudly and gave up His spirit, the temple veil was torn from top to bottom.

This veil had a specific and strict function: it separated the Holy Place, where the priests ministered daily, from the Most Holy Place, where the Ark of the Covenant was kept.

In that holiest place, only the high priest could enter — and only once a year.

» Communion Restored

The tearing of this veil represents a wonderful fulfillment of God’s will: giving us free access to Him.

When Adam and Eve sinned, humanity was separated from God, expelled from paradise, and lost the right to direct communion with its Creator.

However, through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, that separation was undone and our communion was completely restored.

» The Privilege of God’s Presence

Beyond removing our sins, Jesus reconnected us to God and gave us the right to salvation.

We became children of God, as the apostle John says, when we received Jesus as Lord and Savior!

Today, we no longer depend on a single man — the high priest — entering the sanctuary once a year.

All of us have the right and privilege of meeting with the Lord at any moment, to speak with Him and hear the voice of His Holy Spirit, who reveals everything we need to know.

» Enjoy Your Free Access

Rejoice and celebrate this profound truth.

Thank God for this opportunity and enjoy this wonderful right of entering the presence of the Most High at any moment.

Seek to cultivate intimate communion with the living God so that you may increasingly feel the presence of the Holy Spirit and receive clear and precise guidance about His will for your life!
