Do you know Jesus? (1 John 2:3-6)
One of the most confronting truths about the evidence of our salvation and true conversion is recorded in the first letter of the apostle John.
1 John 2:
3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:
6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

Here we see the apostle John speaking openly about the true conversion of the one who truly knows Jesus.
The Word is direct: the one who knows Christ follows His commandments.
To claim to know the Lord while not keeping His Word makes that person a liar, and the truth simply does not dwell in them.

Unfortunately, this is one of the great difficulties of our days. Many people who attend church think they know Jesus, but live a life completely different from what He taught in the Gospels and from what God established throughout the Bible.
When Jesus said that whoever loves Him keeps His commandments, He was not joking nor giving a mere suggestion.

We must genuinely care about the spiritual quality of our lives.
We cannot live deceived, but must look firmly to Jesus and seek to truly resemble Him.
Resemble Him in His unconditional obedience to God, and resemble Him by being merciful and just, for this is exactly what is in the heart of the Father.
» Prepare Yourself for the Final Day
I always warn that many surprises will occur on the final day.
Many lived based on deception and lies, believing that God’s mercy would always reach them and that they could live contrary to what Jesus taught, expecting to attain salvation anyway.
Jesus will demand accountability for every word written in the Bible.
We must be concerned about this so that we are not caught by surprise on the last day of our journey in this world.
May you look at this exhortation from the apostle John and live it intensely.
May you be someone who becomes more like Jesus each day.
The one who says he is in Him must also walk exactly as He walked.
This is the sovereign will of God for your life!
