You Will Never Perish! (John 10:27-29)
Jesus Christ, in one of the most wonderful Words for our lives, reveals great promises from our God in these verses.
John 10:
26 But you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
» Sheep Who Hear and Follow Christ
The first thing Jesus teaches us here is that His sheep are those who believe in Him.
This is a truth that is naturally simple to understand: the one who does not believe does not follow the voice of the Shepherd.
Since Jesus is our true Shepherd, those who believe in Him hear His voice and follow Him unconditionally.
» The Promise of Eternal Life and Victory
The Lord also brings us a word of victory and absolute power: He gives us eternal life and guarantees that we will never perish.
We fight in this world, but we fight to win, grounded in this promise.
If you are faithful to the Lord, attentive to His voice, and follow His steps, eternal life is guaranteed to you, and absolutely no one will be able to snatch you from God’s hands.

The Lord Jesus affirms that what the Father has given Him is greater than everything.
Jesus could have everything in this world — and indeed He does — but know that what is most important to Him is our lives.
The authority given to Him by God belongs to no one else, only to Him.
Therefore, He can guard you, protect you, guide you, and save you.
» The Continuous Care of the Good Shepherd
Just like a natural shepherd, our Shepherd guards us, directs us, warns us, leads us along the path we must walk, satisfies our thirst when we need it, and protects us from all evil during our journey.
» A Call to the Flock
Our Shepherd is faithful and powerful, and He will give us what is most precious from God: salvation.
Believe this! Hear the voice of Jesus and obey Him, because by doing so you will certainly be part of His flock and will forever be one of the Lord’s sheep.
