The Owner of Life (John 10:18)

One of the deepest declarations about the love and authority of Jesus regarding His own life is recorded in the Gospel of John.

John 10:18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.

» The Voluntary Decision Made Out of Love

Here we see Jesus Christ speaking openly about what would soon happen: His death and resurrection.

He makes it clear that His sacrifice was a completely voluntary decision.

It was a decision to honor and obey God, doing what was necessary so that we could have life — and life in abundance.

Jesus declared that He had authority to lay down His life and authority to take it up again.

He, the Most High who dwells in the highest heavens, stripped Himself of His immeasurable glory and paid a high price on the cross so that our sentence of death could be completely annulled.

» A Project Born in the Heart of God

Just as the life of the Son was in God’s hands, our life also belongs to God.

He is the owner of life; He gives it and only He takes it away. Never forget that no one can take your life except God.

You were not born by accident. When you came into this world, you were already a precious project born in the heart of the Lord.

God has wonderful plans for you and will take care of your days until the final moment.

» Do Not Interrupt the Lord’s Plans

Understanding that your life is a divine gift and that Jesus’ sacrifice had an immeasurable price, you must honor God with your attitudes.

Simply remain in His presence so He can lead you according to His holy purposes.

Do not ruin or interrupt God’s plans with wrong choices. Unfortunately, human beings, through free will, often make decisions that deeply grieve God’s heart and delay the blessings He has already prepared.

» Value the Price Paid on the Cross

It is sad to think how many people will lose what is most precious — eternal life with God — simply because they despised the Lord and ignored the sacrifice of His only Son, the very sacrifice that guaranteed our salvation.

Therefore, honor Christ, surrender your ways to Him, and fully live the abundant life He won for you out of love!
