The Signs of Those Who Believe (Mark 16:17-18)

One of the most challenging and powerful statements of Jesus concerns the authority and the signs that should accompany His church.

Mark 16:
17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.

» The Promise and Authority of the Believer

Here we see Jesus Christ giving a tremendous promise to His church and revealing the signs that should follow those who believe.

More than a simple promise, it is the confirmation of the authority He had already given us to trample on serpents and scorpions, ensuring that no force of the enemy can harm us.

It is extremely important to pay attention to this word so we can truly identify the measure of our faith and how we are acting in this world.

» A Call to Reflection and Boldness

Today, I invite you to make a sincere reflection: have these signs accompanied your life? Unfortunately, many people measure their spirituality in a very superficial way, saying only: “I have faith, I believe in God, I go to church.” Yet they neglect the Word and lose the boldness to pray and lay hands on others.

There are many people around us who need healing, deliverance, and edification through speaking in new tongues. If the signs are not appearing, it is necessary to review your spiritual posture.

» The Risk of Outsourced Faith

It is a terrible failure when people who know the Lord do not live the fulfillment of this Word.

Today, many rely solely on the intercession of a small group that truly has faith, while the power Jesus made available to all believers remains unmanifested.

The church should be the mirror of the Word of God, reflecting the glory of the Lord through its actions, so that the world may understand that Jesus came to destroy all the works of the devil.

» A Call to Manifest the Glory of God

Therefore, reflect, desire, and pray more! Strive to remain in the presence of the Lord and seek the manifestation of this power that He has already given us.

May the name of Jesus be glorified through your works and your boldness.

May everyone around you see that God truly exists, that He is alive among us, and that He has absolute authority over all things!
