God Will Demand Account for Everything He Said (Deuteronomy 18:18-19)

One of the deepest promises in the Old Testament reveals the Lord’s care in sending us the Messiah, the One who would bring us the words of life and salvation.

Deuteronomy 18:
18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
19 And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.

» The Announcement of the Messiah and the Value of the Word

Here we have our God speaking to Moses and announcing Jesus Christ, the Messiah who would be sent to speak in God’s name.

The words of Jesus carry such power and authority that, as the text itself says, God will hold each of us accountable for them.

God cared so much for humanity that He left us the Holy Book, the Bible, where everything necessary for us to live in this world by His side is written.

In the Scriptures, the Lord clearly revealed His character, His authority, His power, and His sovereign will.

» Love Expressed and the Measure of Judgment

The Word also shows us His immense love. And the expressed love of God is the person of Jesus Christ, who came into the world so that we might be rescued.

Jesus once said that He did not come to judge the world, but to save it. However, He left us a strong warning:

John 12:48 “The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”

The Word of God will be the great measure that confronts us.

Knowing the Word is a foundation of extreme importance, and those who neglect this knowledge will suffer the consequences, for the Lord has made it available to everyone.

» Knowing the Truth to Avoid Deception

Whoever does not know the truth will inevitably be swallowed by lies, for without truth there is no discernment against deception.

No one will be able to claim innocence through ignorance, for the Lord has recorded His will and the principles for a blessed life and salvation for all humanity.

If you already know the Word of God, fulfill it, follow it, and obey it faithfully. These will be reached by the saving power of Jesus.

But remember: those who reject Jesus will be judged by the very words that came from His mouth.

» A Call to Dedication and Obedience

Therefore, meditate on the Word, desire to live it, and rejoice in it.

Do not be negligent or lazy; dedicate precious time in your life to knowing the Scriptures. By doing so, you will know God, the truth will set you free, and you will grow deeper in the knowledge of Jesus.

The Lord Himself warned: those who do not know the Word simply do not know God.

Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.”

Whoever does not know the Word simply does not know God.

Be concerned with seeking this knowledge with all your heart. Motivate yourself to live the Word daily, so that the words of Christ may be for you a path of eternal life and not of condemnation.

May the signs of God accompany you today, and on the final day of your life, may you enter with deep joy and forever into the presence of the Lord!
