God is Exalted Among the Nations, God is Exalted on Earth (Psalms 46:7-11)
I believe that one of the most striking texts about God’s sovereignty and our refuge in Him is found in Psalm 46, which reveals His unshakable power in every circumstance.
Psalm 46:
7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire.
10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
» The Unshakable Power of God
Psalm 46 is powerful from beginning to end, because it clearly shows us God’s work on earth. The Lord declares that He establishes all things and does whatever pleases Him.
He is exalted, even when unbelief and spiritual coldness seem to dominate the world — a sad reflection of Jesus’ prophetic words about the end times, when the love of many would grow cold and humanity would lose itself by rejecting the Creator.
» The Authority That Governs the World
However, humanity’s rejection does not cancel or diminish God’s power.
The fact that many walk toward destruction does not mean that the Lord has lost control.
God’s authority continues to rule the world! As the text itself says: He is the one who brings desolations, breaks the bow, and shatters the spear.
And it is precisely because of God’s people — those who still worship Him and desire Him — and because of the lives that will still be reached, that the end times have not yet arrived.
» Look to God, Not to the World
Be fully convinced of this: look to your God and do not let yourself be guided by what the world says.
Do not allow yourself to be influenced by the unbelief around you.
Continue worshiping, exalting, and glorifying the name of God.
Know that there is a faithful remnant on earth who loves, obeys, and is loyal to the Lord, and each one will receive their due reward.
» A Call to Constant Worship
Let your greatest influence be the Holy Bible — what God has taught us and the promises He has made.
We see God acting in our lives at every moment: we feel His presence, we hear His voice, and we rejoice in placing our hearts before Him to declare that He is our Lord and Savior.
Be one of those who honor God, who fix their eyes on Him, and who long for His presence.
Quiet your heart, for He is God and will forever be exalted among the nations and throughout the earth!
