Make All Things New (Revelation 21:4-5)

Revelation 21:4-5 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, Behold, I am making all things new. Also he said, Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.

Here we see the Lord practically wrapping up the book of Revelation and, consequently, sealing the definitive message He prepared for His Church of all times — past, present, and future.

In this text, the Lord brings us two essential guarantees for our journey:

» The End of Tears and the Reward of Faith

The first great promise is that He Himself will wipe away every tear from our eyes. This is a deeply motivating word. It urges us to persevere and keep our faith unshakable. After all, no matter how many difficulties and afflictions we face in this world, we can be sure that all our effort will be honored and rewarded by the Lord.

We struggle a lot on this earth, just like the apostles struggled. The apostle Paul, for example, suffered terrible consequences for preaching the Gospel of Jesus. However, driven by faith, effort, and conviction in everything Jesus had revealed to him, he reached multitudes. His struggles were not in vain, and neither are ours.

» Behold, I Make All Things New

The second promise we cannot ignore is the declaration of the Lord Himself: "Behold, I am making all things new."

Think about this: just as Jesus made us new creations on the wonderful day we met Him, He will also make our entire life new. From the moment we meet Him, we will live a life where pain, death, mourning, and suffering will no longer exist. We will see our God and the Lord Jesus face to face, and we will be there, reigning by His side for the praise and glory of His holy name.

» Persevere to the End

Therefore, my brother and sister, persevere! Seek to live daily as the new creation Jesus so deeply wants you to be. Fight the good fight, keep the faith, and walk in righteousness so that, at the end of your journey in this world, you may hear from the Lord: "Your reward is here. Behold, I make all things new in your life."

Persevere in your struggles and stand firm in the Word of God, so that the Lord may honor you perpetually on the final day of your life.

In Jesus' name, may it be so!
