For Him Are All Things (Romans 11:36)
Romans 11:36 For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Everything we are, we owe to God.
Everything we have is solely due to the grace God has poured out over our lives.
Without Him, we would be nothing, have nothing, not even life. We would be dead.
Since all things are from Him, through Him, and for Him, we must understand that everything we do should be done with love, reverence, and excellence, because it is all for Him.
All our thoughts, all our actions and reactions, every task we perform, whether in church, at work, or at home, EVERYTHING should be done as if we were doing it for Him, because in truth, it IS for Him.
Romans 11:36 For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
But then comes the question: Why should I do everything for Him?
The Bible says:
2 Chronicles 16:9a For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
No matter what you’ve done, are doing, or will do, regardless of where, how, what you say, think, or act, nothing escapes the eyes of the Lord.
The Bible tells us that God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. That means He has all power, is everywhere, and knows everything.
And for us, true Christians, this is wonderful, because we have full assurance that God sees us, knows us, and understands the intentions of our hearts.
As the Word says, the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.
1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
When we change our way of thinking and understand that everything we do should be for Him, and begin to act accordingly, God rejoices in us and fills us with His Holy Spirit.
Such transformation becomes so visible that people begin to see God in us, in our attitudes, decisions, actions, speech, and even our touch.
It is liberating to understand what God’s Word tells us in these verses, and at the same time, it is challenging to live it out.
There is no activity or job that is more or less sacred, more or less important, because we understand that it’s not about what we do, but for whom we do it.
Through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to walk in this truth—working in any area of society, living before the Lord with all our hearts.
Only then will we receive blessings upon blessings from the Lord in our lives. And we will rejoice in every task or activity, because in our hearts, we won’t be doing it for a brother, or a parent, or a boss, but for God, and to Him, we will always give our best.
May we turn our hearts to God and give Him the best of our lives in every situation.
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
The Lord bless you and keep you.
